Sydney, New South Wales, 8th September – The NSW Greyhound Breeders Owners, and Trainers Association, in partnership with Greyhound Racing NSW, is thrilled to announce a significant change in the racing schedule at Wentworth Park. Effective 21 October Wentworth Park Greyhound racing will transition from its traditional Wednesday night slot to the all-new, action-packed Friday Night Racing Extravaganza.
This monumental decision to move the races to Friday evenings has been met with great enthusiasm from all stakeholders involved. Mr Weizman, expressed his delight in this strategic shift:
“Make no mistake, Friday night racing is fantastic. It is a win for punters and a win for the industry,” said Daniel Weizman, Interim CEO of the Greyhound Breeders Owners & Trainers Association.
The relocation of Wentworth Park’s racing schedule to Friday nights provides a new level of certainty for all members of the greyhound racing community. This change ensures that enthusiasts, both in the industry and among the betting public, can enjoy high-quality racing in a consistent and convenient manner.
“The move to Friday night racing now provides certainty to the industry,” Mr. Weizman said.
Moreover, this transition is a testament to the collaborative efforts of the NSW Greyhound Breeders Owners, and Trainers Association and Greyhound Racing NSW. Together, they aim to uphold the highest standards of animal welfare and foster the economic sustainability of the greyhound racing industry.
“Working together, we can ensure the highest standards of animal welfare and ensure the economic future of our industry,” Mr. Weizman said.
In addition to the broader industry benefits, Friday night racing offers an exceptional way for participants and spectators alike to unwind and enjoy a thrilling night out after a week of hard work.
“But put simply, Friday night racing is also a great way to cap off a week of work; there is no better way to bring a week to an end than a relaxing night unwinding with a drink and a bet on a few races on a Friday night!” Mr. Weizman added.
As Wentworth Park embarks on this exciting journey, both racing enthusiasts and the wider community can look forward to an electrifying Friday night experience at the track, where the excitement of greyhound racing combines seamlessly with the thrill of the weekend ahead.
In the coming days the NSW will announce some exciting new initiatives that will be implemented to supplement this exciting new change to the racing calendar.
