Nomination details

Nominations for meetings at Temora close Tuesday prior at 4 pm, unless otherwise advertised. Nominations should be sent to the Temora Club via fax (02) 6977 4131.

Box Draw

The box draw is conducted by the GRNSW following close of nominations. Box draw is typically released Wednesday afternoons following grading and can be found on this website, under racing info tab, or alternatively at www.thedogs.com.au

Scratchings

Scratchings are taken by the Temora Club on (02) 6977 1950. Phone between 9am and 3pm on business days. Scratchings close for each meeting at the close of kennels. 

Kenneling & Kennels

A Veterinary surgeon is on call for all meetings. The Kennel block is air-conditioned and the kennels are on one level.

Swabs

Temora follow GRNSW swabbing procedures and withholds prizemoney greater than $5830 when swabs are undertaken. Prizemoney is paid following clearance of swab sample.

Trials

Race Day Trials

Temora conducts one field (8 dogs) trial prior to the first, open to all greyhounds - first in best dressed. Following race meetings field and solo trials are conducted. Tickets must be purchased prior to the last from the race night office.

Non Race Day Trials

Temora trials on Monday nights from 7pm.
Private trials can be made by contacting the office

Travel & Entry

Admission

Entry to Temora race meetings for Adults $6.60 incl.GST Concession patrons receive a $3.00 incl. GST rebate through the race night office when valid admission ticket is presented. Children under 16 FREE

Parking

Parking is available onsite with ample parking around the kenneling area.

Driving

The NSW GBOTA provides the following driving suggestions. No responsability is taken for traffic or tolls enroute. Please use GPS or other devices if concerned. 

From Sydney
Follow the Hume Highway towards Wagga/Melbourne. Take right hand exit onto Burley Griffin Way - marked Harden/Temora/Young. Continue along Burley Griffin Way through Binalong, Harden, Wallendbeen, Stockinbingal into Temora. Turn left into Gallipoli Street, with entrance second left iknto Greyhound Track.

From Wagga
Take Olympic Highway out of Wagga towards Junee/Temora. Past Yathella continue straight becomes Goldfields Way. Continue into Temora on Goldfields Way - becomes Junee Road. Turn right just over railway line into Austral Street follow through for 4 blocks which will bring to entrance of greyhound track.  

Public Transport

Countrylink operate services from Sydney to Cootamundra regularly with connecting bus services which stops at Temora. Further information can be found by searching the Countrylink Website www.countrylink.info
 

General Information

Feature Races 

Temora holds 2 feature events with support programs each year; the Centrebet Temora Cup over 457m worth $5,000 to the winner, plus rug and trophy. A non grade event with number of heats dependant on nominations received. The second event is the Temora Ex Services Cup over 457m and is open to all maidens and graded greyhounds with no Metropolitan wins worth $1,200 to the winner.

Catering & Bar

Temora GBOTA has a restaurant/canteen facilities serving hot meals and a fully licenced bar available for patrons on race nights.

Wagering

Temora GBOTA has one oncourse bookmaker standing on local events.

The NSW GBOTA advocates responsible wagering. Know your limits. If gambling is a problem for you, please call 1800 858 858 or head to

Any bookmaker offering odds against a greyhound shall be compelled to lay such odds if demanded by the taker, but so that the bookmaker shall not be compelled to lose more than $400 on any one wager.

Smoking

All enclosed areas are "SMOKE FREE ZONES". Smoking is allowed in open-air areas.

Eftpos

There is no EFTPOS facilities at the Temora track.

Temora offers race sponsorship. Full meeting or feature race sponsorship is also available, ask how when you contact the Club.  

Other  

There limited camping facilities for travelling trainers, with some kennels available for the greyhounds.
 
There are also replays of all races, which are available to owners and trainers on course, ask for Dennis Pettit.
