Gosford is is a Loam surfaced track with a cable lure system

Nomination details

Nominations for Tuesday meetings at Gosford close Thursday prior at 9 am.

Nominate with GRNSW: Fax: (02) 8580 5301 (24/7) Phone Nomination on 1300 664 565 between 8am and 9am Monday to Friday. You can also register Online to Nominate through the GRNSW website at www.thedogs.com.au.

Box Draw

The box draw is conducted by the GRNSW following close of nominations. Box draw is typically released Thursday afternoons following grading and can be found on this website, under racing info tab, or alternatively at www.thedogs.com.au

For trainers wishing to access fields via the Telads service please call Call 1902 261 112 and follow the prompts.

Scratchings

Scratchings are taken by GRNSW on 1300 797 538. Phone between 8am and 10:00am daily. DEADLINE FOR SCRATCHINGS 9.00am the day of the race meeting. Scratchings that are faxed WILL NOT be accepted.

Kenneling & Kennels

There is a veterinary service available at all race meetings. The Kennel block is air-conditioned and the kennels are on one level.

Swabs

Gosford follow GRNSW swabbing procedures and withholds prizemoney greater than $5830 when swabs are undertaken. Prizemoney is paid following clearance of swab sample.

Trials

Race Day Trials

After the last with four (4) dog field trials, solo and hand slips permissible. Tickets must be purchase prior to Race 9. 

Non Race Day Trials

Wednesday Night
Start: 6.30pm
Maiden and Puppies - 4 Dog fields only are conducted first. Papers must be produced.
Solo, slips, field and Arn trials follow Maiden and Puppy trials. Tickets on sale from 5.30 - 7.30pm.

Thursday Morning
Start: 9am
Arm trials only (no catching pen) - bookings required by Wednesday afternoon, close of office - 1pm.  

Friday Morning
Start: 8am 
Solo, slip, field and Arm trials. Tickets are on sale from 7.30 - 9.00am


Trial Prices
Field Trials (4 dogs) $6.00 per greyhound
Solo/ Handslips $11 per greyhound
Wednesday and Friday Arm Trials $15.00 per greyhound, $5.00 for extra greyhound.
Thursday Arm Trials $20.00 per greyhound

Travel & Entry

Admission

Entry to Gosford race meetings for Adults is $6.60 including GST. Concession (Aged Pensioers Only) $3.30 including GST Children under 18 are free when accompanied by an adult.

Parking

Parking is available within the grounds and is free for particiapnts and patrons.

NSW GBOTA provides the following driving suggestions. No responsability is taken for traffic or tolls enroute. Please use GPS or other devices if concerned. 

From Sydney's West
After driving up the F3 Freeway, turn off at the Gosford interchange and proceed down the Kariong Hill, keep going until you arrive at the second set of lights which will lead you to a left hand turn into Racecourse Rd. Drive past the Gosford Racecourse and Gosford Golf Course on your left-hand side. Proceed to roundabout with Gosford High School on your left. Turn left at the roundabout into Showground Road, proceed approx. 500 metres with Gosford Showground/Greyhound track on your left. Entry is via Glennie Street, the first street on theleft past the Showground.


From North
After driving down the F3 Freeway turn off at the Ourimbah/Gosford interchange. Proceed along Old Pacific Highway until you reach the main street of Gosford. Look out for the set of lights with a used car sales yard on the left hand side (with a Beaurepairs Tyre yard on the right.) Turn right at the lights, which will have you in Racecourse Road. Proceed 100 metres and turn right at the roundabout, this will bring you into Showground Road. Proceed approx. 500m with the Showground/Greyhound Track on your left hand side. Entry is via Glennie Street, the first street on the left past the Showground. 

Public Transport

Public transport to the racecourse is limited. The Gosford track is approximately 10- 15 minutes walk from the Gosford Train station.

Feature Races 

Gosford hosts the Group 2 Woy Woy Poultry Supplies Gosford Cup over 515 metres, open to the best 32 greyhounds nominated plus reserves, with $30,000 to the winner.

Other features:

Centrebet Gosford Goldmine 5th grade greyhounds over 515m worth $10,000 to the winner.

JB Lodge Ultimate Maiden 515m worth $10,000 to the winner.

Catering & Bar

Gosford offers patrons a diverse range of meals in their restaurant. A fully licenced bar is also on site.

Wagering

Gosford GBOTA currently has one Bookmakers operating local racing, with full TAB Totalisator services in the main building.

The NSW GBOTA advocates responsible wagering. Know your limits. If gambling is a problem for you, please call 1800 858 858 or head to

Any bookmaker offering odds against a greyhound shall be compelled to lay such odds if demanded by the taker, but so that the bookmaker shall not be compelled to lose more than $500 on any one wager.

Smoking

Smoking is allowed in open-air areas including the stands.

Eftpos

Gosford GBOTA has EFTPOS facilities oncourse through the appropriately marked TOTE operator.

Gosford also offer Sporting Club sponsorship packages, Club contacts should contact the track for further information. Full meeting or feature race sponsorship is also available, ask how when you contact.  

Other  

Powered caravan sites are available for travelling trainers, however there are no kennels available for greyhounds.
