Nomination details

Nominations for Saturday meetings at Appin close Wednesday prior at 10 am. Nominate with Club by Fax (02) 4267 5229. Nominations will only be accepted by fax.

Box Draw

The box draw is conducted by the GRNSW following close of nominations. Box draw is typically released Wednesday afternoons following grading and can be found on this website, under racing info tab, or alternatively at www.thedogs.com.au

For trainers wishing to access fields via the Telads service please call Call 1902 261 112 and follow the prompts.

Scratchings

Scratchings are taken by Club Officials. Phone: Wed - Fri (02) 4267 1467, Saturday from 9am (02) 4631 1394. Scratchings that are faxed will be accepted.  

Kenneling & Kennels

There is an on call veterinary service available for all race meetings until July 1, 2011. The Kennel block is not air-conditioned and the kennels are on one level.

Swabs

Appin follows GRNSW swabbing procedures and withholds prizemoney greater than $5830 when swabs are undertaken. Prizemoney is paid following clearance of swab sample.

Trials

Race Day Trials

Trials must be pre booked by 3pm Friday for participats with a runner at the meeting. Tickets must be purchased by close of kennels and trial dogs are required to marshall at the kennels for the wlk to the boxes. Due to safety and security issues no provate vehicles are allowed past the appropriate signage on the driveway.

Non Race Day Trials

Trials resume Tuesday January 17, 2012
Saturday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday mornings: 7.30 to 9.30 am
No Afternoon Trials are conducted

Travel & Entry

Admission

Entry to Appin race meetings for Adults is $6.60 incl.GST Children under 18 FREE when accompanied by an adult. A $2.00 refund is available at the office on production of valid entry ticket and pension card.

Parking

Parking is available onsite with ample parking around the kenneling area.

Driving

The NSW GBOTA provides the following driving suggestions. No responsability is taken for traffic or tolls enroute. Please use GPS or other devices if concerned. 

From Sydney / East
Follow the Great Western Highway to Bathurst. Upon entering Bathurst you’ll come through Kelso and cross the Macquarie River. Take the first left immediately after crossing the river, into Havannah Street. Go down two blocks to the roundabout, turn left into Russell Street. Go under the railway line and then take the first turn to the left into Lyal Street. One block down Lyal Street intersects with Upfold Street, the track is directly in front of you. Turn right on to Upfold Street to access Track entry found on your left hand side.

From the West
From Dubbo and Orange follow the Mitchell Highway to Bathurst. From Cowra and Blayney follow the Mid Western Highway to Bathurst. At the major roundabout which connects the Mitchell Highway, Mid Western Highway and Great Western Highway continue onto Rocket Street (straight through from Orange, right from Cowra) and down several (approximately 5) blocks to Havannah Street intersection. Turn left onto Havannah Street and follow it down approximately 5 block to third roundabout. Second roundabout will pass Vic Hotel (left) and Train station (right).  Turn right into Russell Street, go under the railway line and then take the first turn to the left into Lyal Street. One block down Lyal Street intersects with Upfold Street, the track is directly in front of you. Turn right on to Upfold Street to access Track entry found on your left hand side.

Public Transport

Jones Brothers Bus' operate a service which passes the Bathurst Greyhound Track. Service 522 stops within a 5 minute walk of the track, with the service starting in the centre of town. Bathurst holds 2 feature events with support programs each year; the Bathusrt RSL Soldier Saddle and Centrebet Orange Cup.

Catering & Bar

Bathurst GBOTA has a restaurant/canteen facilities serving hot meals and a fully licenced bar available for patrons on race nights.

Wagering

Bathurst GBOTA has an oncourse NSW TAB outlet operating on local and away meetings at race meetings.

Any bookmaker offering odds against a greyhound shall be compelled to lay such odds if demanded by the taker, but so that the bookmaker shall not be compelled to lose more than $500 on any one wager.

Smoking

All enclosed areas are "SMOKE FREE ZONES". Smoking is allowed in open-air areas.

Eftpos

There is no EFTPOS facilities at the Bathurst track.

Other  

There limited camping facilities for travelling trainers, with some kennels available for the greyhounds.
 
There are also replays of all races, which are available to owners and trainers on course.
