GBOTA Branches

Who Can Join the NSW GBOTA?
Membership of the NSW GBOTA is open to any breeder, owner, trainer or attendant who is at the time of applying for membership, the holder of a licence issued by or is the owner of a greyhound registered with Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW).

However, those persons holding an ‘Attendants’ licence from GRNSW do have to have held that licence for at least two years and be over the age of 18.

Visitors and intending members are also welcome at branch meetings.

What Branches Do and the Benefits of Being a Member.
The NSW GBOTA’s statewide branch network provides the opportunity for all members to contribute to the Association’s overall direction. At branch meetings, members have the opportunity to meet with other owners and trainers, allowing for invaluable networking on professional and social levels. These meetings can include visits by representatives from various ‘greyhound orientated’ companies for information nights, lucky door raffles and general social activities. Each branch runs a point score competition, the winners of which are acknowledged at the branch’s annual presentation night. However, the greatest benefit of membership is the democratic and fundamental right of all members in that they are able to contribute through the branch network, directly to Association Directors and thus ‘have their say’ in the progress and development of the Greyhound Industry.

Various other material benefits are available to members such as complimentary admission and trial tickets to the Association’s ten tracks throughout the State are able to be won at monthly meetings - Members Lounge facilities at Wentworth Park with complimentary tea and coffee – A Members Bonus race at every GBOTA TAB and non-TAB Track – Free admission to several of the Association’s Group Race Finals at Wentworth Park throughout the year - Free car parking facilities at Wentworth Park in the external carpark adjacent to the kennels, as well as Annual Reports and regular newsletters mailed directly to members.

A Guide for Branches of the Association
As a guide for branches of the Association to assist with the running of Branch Meetings, the Association Directors have compiled a non-mandatory guide that consists of
(a)  Sample Standing Orders for Branch Meetings
(b)  Procedure for Conduct of Branch Elections
