Track Maintenance Assistant - Bulli  

An exciting opportunity exists to join NSW GBOTA as a Track Maintenance Assistant at our Bulli racetrack.

 

Primary purpose of the role:

The Track Maintenance Assistant will be required to do Tractor work, Track watering, Grounds Maintenance Bulli Showground and cleaning. This position includes Saturdays which is Bulli’s race day. You will be reporting to the Operations Manager.

35 to 38 hour week excluding breaks.

Lure driving experience extremely desirable.

 

 About you

  • Driving licence is essential
  • You will have demonstrated experience in track curation or similar
  • Current WHS qualifications preferred
  • Qualifications and/or extensive experience in Horticulture or Racing Track Maintenance
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve common organisational goals.
  • Capacity to use technology desirable
  • Ability to operate a tractor and medium rigid machinery; capacity to obtain other licences and certifications if required.

Wentworth Park Casual Race Night Kennel Operations

Applicants should be able to demonstrate experience or ability in the following key performance expectations:  

  • High levels of Customer Service experience
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of Work Health and Safety principles
  • Ability to follow procedures and direction
  • Understanding of the importance of procedures and policies
  • Team Player Ability to function in a team environment


Ideally, applicants will have an interest in racing, with willingness to learn different roles. Applicants must be available to work between the hours of 4.00 – 11.45pm on a selection of Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturdays across the year.

Some positions require working with greyhounds and lifting and therefore any applicant should be physically fit and capable. There is also a strong focus on careful observation, understanding of animal welfare considerations and importance of strong security process'.


Staff remuneration with us is determined by Racing Clubs Events Award 2010

MA000013 the Pay Guide and the National Employment Standards.

 

The rate for Casual Race Night Kennel Operations is $26 per hour inclusive of loading. Position is on a roster basis as required.

There may be the requirement for certain positions to provide a criminal history check.
